Concussion Treatment in Cranbrook, BC

Concussion Treatment

Even a single concussion can change how you think, feel, move, and connect with your life. But with the right care, recovery is possible.

At Kootenay Therapy Center, we offer concussion treatment that’s grounded in research, supported by state-of-the-art assessment tools, and delivered by an experienced, multidisciplinary team. Whether it’s your first concussion or part of a longer recovery journey, we’re here to help your brain and body thrive again — with care that is collaborative, respectful, and responsive to your unique needs.

What Is Concussion Treatment?

Concussion treatment begins with a deep understanding of your injury — and how it’s affecting you. We use standardized, evidence-based assessments based on the Canadian Guidelines on Concussion in Sport and the Guidelines for Concussion and Mild Traumatic Brain Injury.

Your care plan may include:

  • Detailed symptom assessment and baseline testing

  • Manual therapy and vestibular rehabilitation

  • Balance, vision, and exertion screening

  • Cognitive pacing and recovery education

  • Exercise therapy and nervous system regulation

  • Integration of other therapies such as acupuncture, counselling, or yoga when appropriate

We also work closely with your doctor, employer, teacher, or case manager to ensure you’re fully supported in all areas of life during recovery.

Healing That Respects Your Whole Self

We understand that no two people are the same and no injury, illness, or challenge shows up in exactly the same way. That’s why we approach each treatment with curiosity, collaboration, and care.

Your goals guide us.

Your experience matters.

And your whole-body health — physical, mental, and emotional — is always at the center of what we do.

Who It’s For

We support patients recovering from:

  • Sports-related concussions

  • Workplace injuries

  • Falls and accidents

  • Post-concussive syndrome

  • Vestibular or visual-related dizziness

  • Cognitive, emotional, or physical symptoms following head injury

We treat children, teens, and adults — and tailor each treatment plan to match your stage of healing.

What to Expect

Your care will begin with a thorough intake and standardized assessment with one of our concussion-trained clinicians. We’ll track symptoms, measure function, and map a customized treatment approach.

Sessions may include one-on-one therapy, home program guidance, return-to-activity planning, and integrated referrals as needed. Recovery is not one-size-fits-all, so your treatment won’t be either.
